Smells Like The 90's
The grunge girl of the 90s is back and cooler than ever! This fall think torn, bleached denim, lots of laddered cardigans and knits and pair it with edgy accessories for a look to take you into autumn! For me it's all about the studded cuffs, baggy sweaters, and drabbed necklaces to truely get into the Nirvana experience. Designers such as Diesel Charlotte Ronson and Louis Vuitton are showing the trend

Vintage Shops
Being from New Jersey, I am always taking trips to NYC with my friends on the weekends. Just last week I came across some amazing vintage shops. It gave me the idea to make a list for those who are visiting, or those around the area, of vintage shops. All of them are affordable, have stylish pieces, and are all on the west side.
1. Fox and Fawn- Frnt 1 112 Suffolk St, New York, NY (I got two great pairs of boots here! One of the pairs had gold studs and are still wearable to this day) It is a second hand store where you will find shoes, jewelry, belts, bags, dresses, and great sweaters. Prices range from $5-60. Some sweaters may be pricy, but look deep and you can pull out a Oscar de la Renta sweater for less then $30!
2. Atomic Fashion- 430 E. 9th St., New York, NY...I cannot stop raving about this shop. It is cheap, and chic! You'll find floor-to-ceiling vintage clothing (dresses from the 1800s to the eighties), accessories, and menswear here, but stay focused on the killer shoe department. The footwear is from every decade and in excellent condition. Betsey Johnson eighties floral prints are well stocked and priced to sell.
I'll put up more tomorrow, I only had time for two today!!!! I fyou have any questions, just ask!

The skinny on the Skinnys

While browsing through the spring '09 fashion runway shows, I noticed how impeccably thin the models were! But it wasn't the woman I was noticing, it was the men! Picturing a male model, one thinks toned muscles, defining cheekbones, bulky pecs, but apparently that was so LAST season. As winter fades away, so does the weight. As I look at these "men" walking down the runway, I think of them as little high school freshman boys who haven't hit puberty yet! I feel like I'm in a Rolling Stones, or some Indie music video with all the skinny jeans and skinny boys. Sometimes I think they are woman. The fashion world (which I respect and admire immensely) has made their mark on the female models, now male models, what's next?

Spring Awakening

It's not spring yet, but a girl can still dream! Looking good in the spring can be a struggle. But no need to fret, Christian Louboutin to the rescue!! With his life changing spring collection, you can feel confident in his ever so stylish platform cage sandles. Personally, I enjoy gawking at his hot pink pair. But if you don't enjoy something bold, go for a nude, or even a black pair. They are very versatile; giving you the option to wear them with a black fitted satin dress at night, or even a pleated floral dress in the day. Although the price is out of MY budget, it would be an investment worth every penny.
